We provide care for clients aged 18 upwards who have a physical or cognitive disability resulting from neurological condition. These conditions may be neurodegenerative, traumatic or genetic and require complex management in order to maintain the well-being of the clients to maximise quality of life. The families of these clients also require understanding support and guidance from a knowledgeable staff team.
Our person-centred approach ensures each care programme is specific to a client’s individual lifestyle and requirements and are seen in the context of the person as a whole, incorporating the family dynamics and change in social settings.
We can offer long /short term care, respite and day care as well as palliative care. Our focus is to care for our clients within the Centre and keep hospital admissions only for absolute acute intervention.
Interdisciplinary meetings evaluate a client’s progress, arrest any deterioration and adapt care accordingly. We provide an on-going assessment of a client’s progress in their abilities and level of independence in daily activities (i.e. dressing, walking etc).
Our patients will be taken care by a multi-disciplinary team that will help them reach their full potential and make the best out of their stay at the Kings Lodge. Each patient is unique, and so every team is different, depending on their needs. The core team will be comprised of:
